Invergordon is situated on Scotland's rugged east coast and it's deep natural harbor, sheltered by the Cromarty Firth, provides liners access to the heart of the Scottish highlands. And so it was for us ... Invergordon - a lovely port of call providing a gateway to our destinations - Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Dunrobin Castle.

Urquhart Castle although extensively ruined , was once one of the largest strongholds in Scotland. The Castle overlooks the famous Loch Ness which long ago was the main route through the Great Glen of the Highlands. The earliest history of the area indicates activity on the site during the 6th Century; existence of the castle dates from the early 1200s. The Castle is presently owned by The National Trust for Scotland and it is run by Historic Scotland.
