Kernave

Photo was taken at Kernave - the location of the first capital of Lithuania. Currently it's an archeological reserve and UNESCO World Heritage site.
The first human settlements in Kernave appeared around 11000 years ago.
During 12th-14th centuries it was a big well defended town and important trade center. However, it was destroyed in 1390 and never rebuilt. Presently only few defensive mounds remain. One of the mounds can be seen on the left side of this photo.

I had to convert the same RAW file twice (with Exposure set to +0.1 and -1.2) and merge two files in Photoshop to have both the ground and the sky (almost) correctly exposed.
