Very interesting picture. It reminds me some of this fellow pbaserhttp://www.pbase.com/fotoopa/photopainting . Is yours done within one photo or more combined into one?

Wow! This one hit me like a hammer. Easily one of the best images I've ever seen on Pbase or anywhere else. This is a very sophisticated shot and should be hanging on the wall of a gallery.

This picture speaks to me on several levels:we`re all caught in the daily time-trap trying to find time to do things we should have done ages ago,and at the same time trying to find ourselves in this mayhem of every-day life.So when you are trying to find your space (like you show in this picture) I can assure you that you are not alone in this struggle.Very good shot with meaning!:-)

...and I could go on becuase then you have the question: does everyone feel like the person inside finding and expressing their identity, watching the others pass? If so, we are all both of the people.
Guest 07-Dec-2006 20:35
Is the person passing by... you? Or a representation of the busy lives of anonymous people you are trying to communicate with? To me the person passing by is not searching for a space as she isn't even looking up. It's the figure of a person in a hurry who knows exactly where they are going and just wants to get there fast without distraction or interruption, making the task of the person inside (definately you) harder to speak your mind & tell your story. To me this looks like an allegory to PBASE.com, MYSPACE.com, and all other communications spaces - on and off the net. (v)

Here...and there.
Beautiful like a haiku.

This is one of my favourites of the series, because of the great aesthetic quality, the movement, the textures, the composition. This is also full of mystery.

Wow, very creative image. I love the contrast of the blur and the still arm. Almost like your arm is waiting for you to pass in order to stop you in your tracks.
Guest 29-Nov-2006 04:16
Your space is full of you - and there is more than one you. The one that hides but can't hide the tension , and the one visible that hides all! This is very creative, and reveals first... your talent! V

Outstanding stillness and movement.
Your space...so mysterious yet revealing.

Come out Ai Li, there's so much you're wanting to say
jude28-Nov-2006 23:32
Like you're chasing yourself - trying to find a part that seems to stand still, yet disappears quickly when you find it in reach.
VERY creative, AiLi..

Movement and stillness packed wonderfully in just one image.. I find it quite a movie like one actually, just like we've stumbled upon a stage somewhere, but then life is just the same...

There is a story here and greater meaning than the obvious! And it is for each of us to discover that story! V

A photographic is an equation in time, light, and space, Ai Li. You make use of all three here to express the boundaries, limitations, and opportunities that affect life. This image is about the world we make for ourselves. The abstracted figure in the window is constrained, blind, and fearful. The abstracted blurred figure on the outside of the building is free to come and go as she will. They are, of course, different sides of the same person. You. The trapped figure in the window lacks confidence in herself. The free figure, while undefined, is oblivious to constraint, and flows as freely as she wishes. You show us the two sides of yourself here -- status still to be determined. You blend abstraction and incongruities to express the nature of a human value that all of us must reckon with: self-identity.

I wrote a comment on one of your earlier images, Ai Li, about how the beauty of a blossoming flower is revealed to us petal by petal. This is yet another petal in Ai Li's blossoming. We're reveling in your revelation.
