don't

Don’t stop me from thinking
Don’t stop me from dreaming
Don’t stop me from laughing
Don’t stop me from crying
Don’t stop me from caring
Don’t stop me from loving
Just Don’t...

(Special thanks to Ann for the special effect. Source from Rene and Chuck. Part of my new gallery: exposed...)

I would like to take this opportunity to truly thank all who supported my recent " A Chance in Life" gallery.
Deeply moved and overwhelmed beyond words... And thanks to those who cared and asked about my absence.
I would not be posting on a regular basis till I find a new photo project.
Meanwhile I’m continuing to catch up with my comments too. Thanks again :-)

Extremely expressive and with a super cool pp work that made it even more so.
Well done.

Wow....I can feel myself in this image...the tension in your fingers trying to make it all go away...
Thank you.

Such an heartfelt image of pain and torment... and a cry for it to stop. GMV

It's those frantic etchings that make this photo for me. They amplify the sense of agitated despair that comes from your posture. The close cropping mirroring the clenched body beats to the same drum, too.

One word - brilliant!

Chris Sofopoulos12-Oct-2006 15:31
I am a bit late...
An image full of tension Ai Li. And the processing adds to this result.
Among your best shots. v

What Brinn said! Perfection, hurry back!
Guest 11-Oct-2006 20:56
Nice work :O)
Guest 11-Oct-2006 19:55
The only thing that could stop you is yourself, Ai Li. And the tension in your fingers is a sign of a fight with your brain. I like your desire of perfection and your quest for a consistent theme. Just the best of us can afford that.
By the way - your word as as strong as your images - excellent treatment, nice work on symmetry and composition.
Guest 11-Oct-2006 19:53
I think it's all been said..but, it won't stop me voting!
Phil Douglis11-Oct-2006 19:32
The purist speaks, Ai Li. I find the scratches call attention to themselves at the expense of the power of the image itself. I know what they are trying to say, but I feel the image says it well enough already. It is a magnificently abstracted image that speaks eloquently of an inner pain that won't go away. The "effect" is superflous. It does not dilute the point, but it sits on the surface and does not go the core as the image does. I know I am in the minority here, but I have built my teaching on "less is more" and "form follows content." in this case, more is less, and the content must compete with form.

Excellent on all levels (again). Vote.
JSWaters11-Oct-2006 16:55
Kal likens the scratches to neglect - but given your body position I see you protecting yourself from some type of abuse. You cower in despair, and your hair looks wet, which makes you appear even more vulnerable. Your image conveys a deeply felt concern for things most precious, laughter, love, freedom.

We would never stop loving you, you are never alone in this world Ai Li. Fantastic self expression and treatment to convey your feelings. Voted
Guenter Eh11-Oct-2006 16:21
You know how you can push our tension to the limit Ai Li! There`s much more power to get into projects instead of daily uploads - a wise decision!

Don`t stop me from stunning about your new entry! The fabulous treatment enhance the message in the extreme! My admiration!

I meant to say that the distressed look works well.

Nice work
Stu11-Oct-2006 15:40
This one really hits home. It seems to me to be full of frustration, very tense, and angry maybe? But that's down to how we want to interpret the body language I guess. It feels like the moment before you have to just open your mouth and scream "AAAAARGHHHH!" at the top of your voice! Like the effect too, it suits the image.
Kal Khogali11-Oct-2006 15:34
The immediate feel of the scratches is of neglect...nmeglect of feelings I guess, which add to the underlying feeling of rage or disappointment. I like it, it has that scrathched negative feel about it...excellent Ai Li ;-)K
Guest 11-Oct-2006 15:25
Really compelling shot and great addition to this very popular gallery. I really like the effect. Overall, has a sense of rage for me.

fabulous, love the expression - leave me alone... don't! v>

The etches add to the feeling of despair - like we are looking in through a barrier. Like we are looking into a private moment. An excellent addition to your Exposed gallery.
And welcome back - find a project.. quick! ;)
