don't cry

Little child dry your crying eyes
How can I explain the fear you feel inside
Cause you were born into this evil world
Where man is killing man and no one knows just why
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again

Little child you must show the way
To a better day for all the young
Cause you were born for all the world to see
That we all can live with love and peace
No more presidents and all the wars will end
One united world under God

When the children cry let them know we tried
When the children fight let them know it ain't right
When the children pray let them know the way
Cause when the children sing then the new world begins

Terrible... what JD says, because how true.
Love this wonderful image, very well composed, with this huge sign and the small picture of you baby, so beautiful.
Great use of black and white, of light. Vote

Unfortunately, history has proven that 2 generations in a row can participate in different wars. Could be evil, but could also be human.

Moving image and words.
I loved White Lion in the 80's...
Seems we have a common theme here...photo with music

So wonderful....the shot, the message, the lesson.
When will they ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

Very powerful image, Ai Li! Maybe some will learn from this. War is not the answer but has been with us from the beginning of time. Man does not learn from his history but feeds his own greed, unfortunately. Until that day when there will be no more tears, we all must pray for peace. V

Superb, Ai Li!
Very strong picture!

Do you see how profound the change is, here, Ai Li, after you told us that the baby in that picture is you? You change the meaning of this picture entirely by changing the context for us. It becomes more personal, and more about you as opposed to a generic image of a young child. It still does not exactly mesh for me with how this gallery began, but seen as a separate entity, it strikes a chord of empathy. And all because of what you told us the day after you posted it.

I came back. Even more powerful image to me because the baby in the photo is you!
Guest 26-Aug-2006 21:06
Ai lI this is a very powerful gallery, not just with its images, but with its touching words here! GMV

We are what we believe, We are what we see and how we react to it, we are what we do, and not just what we say....I see you Ai Li...K

Excellent set up - and a good attempt at interpreting hope.

Yes Ros, you're right, it's me, a cry baby. Glad that you found a piece of me, my relationship and my thought about war.

Excellent concept and execution. Another winner.

I think Phil is right - although I suspect there are mixed messages in here about the past.
It's a beautiful image though, and at a more general level, makes you wonder how babies end up being soldiers.
Phil Douglis25-Aug-2006 18:15
As you develop this gallery, you seem to be gradually moving away from visually expressing who you are, and instead are now focusing on what you believe. This image is powerful in form, yet gathers its expression from the words and pictures of others. You are passionately committed to the words in this image. You quote poetry of others below it. You may use this image to create awareness of a worthy cause, but the gallery itself now seems to be moving away from exploring Ai Li as a person, and instead seems to be focusing more on external situations that are of great meaning to you.

I enjoy your visual thoughts, Ai Li, I enjoy them even more, when they unison with mine. Very strong, very social, very feminine work. Creative composition, usage of graphic lines and proportions, thoughtfulness, power, all in one well-done picture.

There`s NO future for the war - the children are our hope, let the children sing....oh how wonderful is your new work. So nicely arranged and touching! Unlimited creativity Ai Li!
