Sydney, Australia

Partial eclipse in Sydney, Australia on 4th December, 2002. The sun was partially obscured by smoke from a bushfire which was burning at the time, giving the red colouration. The image has not been manipulated in any way, besides sharpening with USM in photoshop.

Having tried many times to just get a picture of a plane in front of the moon, I have an appreciation of the difficulty in capturing these types of shots. With the addition of a solar eclipse and a bushfire, this really is a remarkable shot !
