At some 45 days old, Puffins are ready to be abandoned by their parents.
Eventually, they will leave their underground burrows (at night) and head to the water.
They will remain at sea until they mature, returning to their birth place at about 5 years of age.
A faint hint of heavy bill that this Puffin will sport can be see as a curved crease about 1/2 way along it's bill.
