Mahabalipuram

Mahabalipuram is an ancient seaport for the kings that ruled southern India. In the 6th Century they commissioned monolithic rock carvings of chariots called the Five Rathas. The largest bas relief carving in the world is here also, called the Krishna Mandapam. Also impressive is the Shore Temple, which is the last of seven original temples. The temple is built to honor Shiva with an east facing and west facing element.

Good to see Mamalla back here, especially the fishermen, got some good memories from Devaneri, now some years ago, I saw all the young people growing up with the time .... thanks for inviting, keep it up !
