The Borris Fair is a major social event in the calendar of the Traveling community held annually on August-15th, the Feast of the Assumption. Travelers from all over Ireland arrive in south Co Carlow for the country’s longest street market which attracts thousands of visitors. Families in caravans and camper vans stake out prime spots for their stalls on the mile-long Main Street. The Fair is a mix of goods to buy and sell, horses and religious nick-nacks.
