The floating Christmas Tree, tallest in Ireland and made from recycled metal parts, was due to be lit-up at 6 pm on 20-Nov-09.
Instead, it came adrift from it's moorings, floated downstream and then got partly wedged under the Shannon Bridge.
The bridge had to be closed and traffic chaos (gridlock) ensued.
