Two days in Thana Ratha (which is in our opinion just enough to see the main attractions). The minibus travel from Georgetown to Thana Ratha became quite interesting for the last 1,5 hours, as the driver drove crazy as hell on the winding road up to Thana Ratha (think he knew only full throttle or brake).
For the first day we booked a day trip to do a jungle trek to the biggest flower in the world (rafflesia), which was quite good. Never went on such a slippery path through really thick vegetation (was real fun). Also the rafflesia was impressive even though it was not fresh any more. We further visited an orang asli village (native peoples of Malaysia) on this day-trip, which was so-so as they already lived in newly built houses and all tourist groups are brought there. On we went to the BOH Tea Plantation (nice views but better explored on your own as we did next day on a rented motorcycle), to the butterfly farm (okay) and to the inevitable strawberry farm (nothing to write home about). On this day trip you get a good overview of the area.
Next day we rented a motorcycle in the very morning and drove to 3 different Tea Plantations. The landscape with the tea shrubs was amazing and it was nice to explore on our own with almost no other tourists.
