To Homer2: I saw your web site. In looking at the pictures I was shocked what was done to women and children of Iraq. I never have understood by Saddam's 'freedom fighters' would do such a thing to their own people just to make US look bad. When I was in Vietnam, the Vietcong would do the samething to their people, trying to get world attention. I can understand terrorist getting upset, because they are not winning their cause, but why do they always take it out on women and children of their own population? I pray some day common Muslims will see what lengths their own Muslims leaders have gone to just to stay in power. Thanks for showing what Muslim 'liberators?' are doing to their own people. Eirc, nobody is born to be a terrorist. I was born as a normal child in a third world country, with little means. We never hate or jealous of your wealth. In fact, I grown up with Coca-cola, McDonald, KFC, Pizza Hut, Levis...you name it. Althought my English is not very good, at least it is my second language. We were so contented with what we have here and never bother to even come over to your country to "make money". But your government is different. It wanted our resources. It wanted our land and control our companies. It wanted us to think and behave like you are. It wanted everything from us. That leaves us work and be your labor. Even though you never see or experience little people like us. But we are all working for you. Are we really free or you call "liberated"? I have fate in my country leaderships. We talk and think the same way. But we are losing control on everything on our beloved soil because of corporate America. All your liberation really do is to shut us out and said "go back to work you idiots". Our voices is never heard and you never care for little people like us. All you care is your freedome, your family. But what about us? Are we no human also?

Hey Awaken - wake up..read the words of the "punch in the face" post again. Pause if necessary between the sentences. Think about the meaning of the words and how the story is meant to illustrate a point- although not in agreement with your views, it is nonetheless an effective and simply understood way to convey the US mode of thinking. It is a different world we live in now, too many radical kooks have too many deadly means of making their point. The US is apparently the only superpower left with the balls to do something about a world gone bezerk. Call it pre-emptive, call it liberation, call it what you want. It is the right thing to do. The US is and always has been among the greatest and most powerful countries in the world. Military might has long been and will continue to be one of the reasons for this legacy. Other nations will always be jealous of our Prosperity, Freedom, Democracy, and Success which has led to intense jealous hatred of our country by less prosperous, less powerful, dictator-led nations such as Iraq. This anti-western sentiment continues to be instilled in the very young in these rogue nations--brainwashed into believing the lies and fostering the hatred. Something needs to be done. If not us, who? If not now, when? Do some research on the history of Hussein regime--read about the torture, brutal violence, rape, and mass murders of his own people. One can only shudder to imagine the punishment that Saddam would inflict on the US given half a chance. We cannot wait for this kook to obtain the ability to carry out his wishes in the form of weapons of mass destruction. He has ignored for 12 years the decree of the UN to give up these weapons. He has violated the UN resolutions repeatedly. THe conduct of Saddam and his soldiers during the conflict thus far prove his insanity and ruthlessness. The Iraqi people are indeed being liberated whether they realize it or not. It won't be long before Iraqi children will be named "George Bush" when they are born. For Hakkian I read your message and saw your picture and I believe you wrote what you think is true. However, as you know, us ‘common’ people (you and I) only get daily information from News media. We are not in a position to know what really is in the ‘mind’ of each of our Governments when they take action or make certain statements. They could be telling the whole truth or maybe just part of a truth. I have two sons about your age and understand your fears and strong feelings that are propagated from media reports, whether true or false. I can assure you, we (common people) are not interested in world domination and would just like to go ‘fishing’ everyday. We(common people) just do not like brutal treatment of (common)people by other Governments. I guess it is because we know what real freedom is like. In fact, let us see which Government gives its citizens the most freedom. I am inviting you go come to stay at my home in America. God bless our troops, our President, and our country. Thank you for posting these pictures. There are two groups of people in this world. There are those that are ignorant and uneducated of history and how it repeats itself, the war protesters. If it was 1936 these same people would be in the streets supporting Hitler as a peaceful and loving leader, today they support the evil dictator Hussein. These are the week minded people these dictators love to manipulate. The second groups of people are the educated, the visionaries, and the brave, those who understand history, those that understand the difference between good and evil. The people with strong will and strong minds, which are leaders not followers. These are the people dictators hate, and target to kill. The majority of true Americans are in this second group. Thank you for showing your pictures of these brave American leaders. The war protesters can continue to follow there idols, Hitler and now Hussein to the hell they evil dictators came from.

My family and I supported this war at the beginning. But we begin to have doubt about the effectiveness of this war. If we are doing the right thing, at least we think we are, why are the rest of the world hate us?? Am I missing something here? I have friends in many parts of the world. We never had this much difference in opinion before. We are liberating the helpless in Iraq and they should greet us with flowers. NOT suicide bomb!! I can’t go out these days without looking over my shoulder. And I DON”T WANT MY FAMILY to live like this forever. We used to be loved and respected by the world. This morning I drove through Medford Square. There was a bunch of people gathered there with signs and flags in a support the troops rally. I honked my horn and gave them the thumbs up.It felt good. I pulled over and decided to go over and check it out. I stood with them for about an hour, and talked to a few of these guys. they weren't crazy radicals, they didn't block the roads or the sidewalks, many of them had family members over there. One guy was wearing a Grateful Dead T-shirt. I said something to him about it. He said "Thirty years ago I protested against the war in Viet Nam." I said, yeah, me too." I said "Who woulda thought we'd be standing here supporting the troops today." He said, "I was right then. I'm right now." While I stood there, hundreds of cars passed by honking their horns, waving, giving the thumbs up sign, yelling and cheering out their windows. Most people were honking in agreement. No doubt the majority of cars going by were showing support for the troops. One car with some young kids in in slowed down and yelled "Fuck war man!" One. Cops drove by. Every one of them gave us the thumbs up and smiled. One cop rolled down his window and said "I'm with you guys. The other guys I gutta arrest them for smokin pot!" A firetruck drove by and honked the big horn and flashed the lights and the firemen waved. A big cheer went up. One old guy slowed down and yelled,"I have a son in Iraq. God bless you guys for supporting him." It was quite a sight to see. It was a strange feeling just to be there. About noontime I went home, the numbers were growing. When I left there were about fifty people there. I saw no TV cameras. I'm sure they were all in Boston at the anti-war rally, but I can tell you without a doubt that most of the people driving through Medford were patriotic, and it felt good. I may go back next week. I know you probably think I'm nuts, but It felt damn good. I'll never forget it.

This IS the 1st Amendment at work, too bad when it blows up in the "other sides" faces. Get it? I will continue to hold these rallies until the last protester drops. I love my country and love the movement that has started in the other direction. Do you think that signs such as " America - Love it or Leave it", "Shutup" "...Hippies Smell" provide an indication that people truly understand what the 1st amendment is all about? People on BOTH sides of this issue are Americans who care about their country, and BOTH sides deserve respect, in my humble opinion.
