Wasn't the owners name Volker? Big German dude, top notch guy. They like a lot of the old places had rooms that they rented upstairs, usually to "regulars", lol.

I met my second husband in the Broadway Hotel at the bar one Friday night in May 1977. I had stopped off after work for one - and only one - beer. Was the first and only time I was ever in there. Good beer joint.
