This was surreal! My two nephews and I were about finished up at the Arboretum. Visited over the summer and the mid-day heat was getting to us. Apparently it was too hot for this guy too! He was napping under a large aloe and we were about 8 feet from him when my nephew spotted him. He opened his eyes when he realized we were standing there and then closed them again. This went on for about 5 minutes until he decided he'd better move. We think he just moved further under the aloe as we never saw him come out the other side. Kind of an ugly setting and bad lighting, but it was really neat to see him up close.
