Lunch/Brunch – Sandwiches with a variety of cold cuts Brought by Gene and Lee Deutsch.

It was a cold and windy day. It was 30 deg. F when we started. I didn’t even have to use toe warmers. The wind was from the North East at about 15 mph. It only warmed up to 33 degrees by the time we stopped but it felt like it was getting colder. Barometric pressure was steady.

We had a small field. I didn’t take a lot of photos since most people were wearing parkas.

From the club we headed up the driveway and then turned South into the covert we had found the fox in last weekend. Eleanor was definitely looking for fox. We went on the woods path along Hwy HH and then turned down the road and headed west. Eleanor worked in the field and around the little pond that is there. Then we turned and headed North along the top of the bluffs by the natural bridge. We came out of the woods on the field across from the kennels and headed down the hill and to the east. We then crossed the creek and worked toward the hog farm. About this time Pee Wee lost a shoe. Hounds hit on a coyote and off we went. We ran down the lane of the hog farm and then down the hill and back around and headed all the way North into Weibels. Mary viewed two coyotes that split. They circled back to the south and went all the way back to the hog farm. The run was 35 minutes and 4.5 miles.

At this point Eleanor had all but two hounds and we headed in.

We finished around 1:00 pm and went into the club to warm up and grab a bite to eat before heading home. Mary talked to Ron who said it had been snowing steady in Sparta. We didn’t run into snow until we got to Troy.
