It started out very cold. My truck thermometer said 22 deg. F as I drove in the driveway at Valley Green. There was no wind though so it didn’t seem that cold. Barometric pressure was rising. The temperature was up to 50 deg. by the time we finished. It was very dry.

We headed North and then west through the horse pasture. We headed toward D and was headed southward when the hounds started speaking in the woods north of us. There was pasture only Eleanor could go through so she sent us on up the road while she went in to the pasture where the hounds were speaking.

As we waited on the road a big coyote came out of the pasture Eleanor was in and crossed the road and made a huge leap and cleared the 4 ft. hog wire on the other side. It was a magnificent sight.

The hounds chased the coyote into a cattle pasture where it was hard for horses to navigate. Eleanor called the hounds back and we continued back into the woods near the horse pasture. This time the hounds spoke again and went Northeast. We headed off until the hounds lost the scent and then waited while Eleanor gathered the hounds again.

This time she took them into the woods on the cliff above the creek. There was some speaking from Nabisco but the other hounds couldn’t manage to pick up the scent. After a while, Eleanor gathered the hounds again and we headed in.
