Lunch/Brunch – Soup and Sandwiches brought by Mary Hensel and Ron Ausman.

This was our first cold day hunting. The temperature was 37 when we started and only went up to 39 by the time we finished. It was overcast which made it seem colder. The barometric pressure was rising and the wind was from the West. Winds were strong at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

We headed down the hill and toward the kennels. We went past the kennels and on up the driveway toward the road. Then Eleanor headed south and drew the woods on top of the bluffs above the creek. We headed on back through and down the hill near the kennels. We headed southeast toward the Hog farm and drew the woods to the east of the hog farm. A few young entries spoke but it was not encouraging. We saw lots of deer but the hounds appeared steady for the most part. Eleanor worked the woods up toward the dark house and then we headed home from there. I actually headed in a little early but the rest of the group was not far behind. It was basically a cold, windy, and blank day. The soup Mary heated up warmed the spot and we all left in a hurry to get ready for the hunt ball.
