It was a warmer day but very muddy. The ground was still frozen when we started out but it warmed up quickly. . The temperature started at 37 degrees and went up to 53 degrees while we were hunting. Barometric pressure was falling. Winds were from the West at 4 to 10 mph.

Four people had come from the Columbia Dressage and Combined Training Association by invite and there were several people from Irish Fox stables.
We started out Irish Fox stables and headed east out the back into Busch Wildlife area. We then headed south toward D Hwy. She drew the wooded drainage area heading North East. Absolutely nothing was found. Usually we see many deer in Busch Wildlife and we saw three near the very end of the hunt. We heard an owl in the distance. There’s a theory that when owls are out during the day the scenting conditions are bad. So this must have been the case. We had two people with unscheduled dismounts. One was Emily when her horse lunged over a water and mud filled ditch. The other was Jane when she was grabbed by a vine while trying to avoid the nasty ditch along the road.
