It was a beautiful day. We parked at the clubhouse. The temperature started at 48 degrees and increased to 66 degrees. Barometric pressure was falling and it was sunny. The ground was dry. Winds were light from the Southwest.

We started up Southwest from the clubhouse all the way to the end of the drive. Then she turned south and drew the hounds into the woods next to the wheat field. They worked the woods and along the bluffs above the creek. One of the young entries (Druid) fell off the cliff. He had no visible injuries but was obviously quite sore. Ron Ausman and I went back to the kennels for the truck to bring him in. We put him back in the kennels to recover and rejoined the hunt. We headed back southeast to catch up with them. We finally found them on the “road to nowhere” at the far end of the property. This was just in time to hear the hounds on a great run towards Walsh’s.

We headed back in with most of the hounds. We couldn’t stay out too late as our hunt ball was planned for that evening.

Jill Wagenknecht and Mary Smithing brought some wonderful pastries and Danish for us to enjoy after the hunt along with sandwiches and Maria cooked up some bacon. It was just enough to tide us over before the hunt ball.

Late update, the hound is fine after his fall. I looked at the topo map and it was probably about 50 ft. that he fell.
