13 ½ couple of hounds. Quite a few puppies were out. Same hounds as the day before.
GPS readings 14.81 miles
2:52 hrs moving 1:30 hours stopped. 4 hrs 22 minutes total
Max speed 23.2
Moving average 4.8

The day started sunny and cold. The frost was heavy in the morning. It was still only 24 deg. F at 8AM when we fed the horses. By hunt time the weather had warmed up to 37 deg. F. It continued to warm up to 49 degrees F by the time we stopped. Barometric pressure was falling. Winds were from the Southeast at 4 to 9 mph. It seemed a lot more than that and gusty at times.

We parked at Steckel’s farm. We had about the same turnout we had the day before. We hacked down the road and turned toward the river. Eleanor drew the hounds along the river and we heard a few speak but nothing really came of it. We crossed the river on the bridge and headed into a territory known as Sweringens. We worked the wooded hillside there. At least three of the whips viewed. Lee saw two coyotes on the same line. Eleanor waited hoping the hounds would pick up the line but with the wind and with it warming up so fast it was hard. We heard a few hounds speak but the line was stale and nothing much came of it. Eleanor gathered the hounds and then crossed back over the river and hunted back toward Steckels. By this time it was warm and blustery and nothing was found.

After hunting Mary brought some sandwich making materials and we were all able to have sandwiches before we hit the road for our way home.
