It was a perfect day considering how hot it had been in August. Winds were from the Northwest at 3-7 mph. Temperature ranged from 57 to 70 deg. F. Barometric pressure was rising. It was a beautiful sunny day. Polo shirts were allowed for September cubbing.

From the clubhouse we headed North and stayed on top of the hill while Eleanor worked the woods next to the horse pasture. We turned east and jumped the coop at the end of the field into the horse pasture. We went down the hill, across the ditch and back up toward HH. We followed carefully along the edge of the bean field heading south while Eleanor worked the woods. We crossed the drive and headed into the woods. We came out on that other driveway and headed to the south end of the property. Here the hounds started to speak and we could hear them in the corn headed for Hwy Z. Jill went down to the bridge but then never got to her before they lost and came back to Eleanor.

We crossed the creek, giving the hounds a chance to cool off and get a drink. Then, we headed along the edge of the field working the bluff along the creek. We came to a rather rough crossing, which was boggy and difficult and a couple of the horses in second field elected not to follow. We made it through and caught up with Eleanor just as the hounds hit a line in the corn field. We listened as they went back and forth in the corn for a long time. When they stopped speaking, Eleanor called them back and we started in.

When we crossed the creek almost back to the kennels, the hounds hit a line again and ran a big circle in the field along the creek. It was a nice final run and we called it a day.
