We started cubbing extra early this season due to all the deer seasons that occur later. The master’s have waived hunt coats in favor of polos for the whole month of September. When I woke up it was raining and lightening. Called and talked to Eleanor, she was pretty sure the weather would stay south. It did stay south. Temperature ranged from 62 to 66 deg. F. Wind was from the NE at about 5 mph.

We headed down hill to the east and crossed the creek. Then headed North and drew the hounds along the creek. When nothing was found we headed further East and worked the woods and fields all the way to the Eastern end of the property. The day was totally blank and the only hound we heard was Druid who howled when he got lost from the rest of the pack early on. Gene let us lark over one of the coops and I took some photos. Other than that we barely got out of a walk most of the day.
