The Guadalupe Mountains National Park set a record for total rainfall for the month of September and some of the trails were closed as a result.
Most of this rain came from the remnants of Pacific hurricanes. I saw shallow lakes along I-10 in Arizona and I've never before seen it so green in October or water in Salt Flat.
