Rietvlei (Swamp with Reeds) is a small nature reserve and game park approx 18 km South of Pretoria. Many species roam the grassy plains and birds are everywhere - from the savannah grasslands types to wading birds in the dam and the marshy waterways leading to the dam. It is only a few minutes from my home. The roads - black top and gravel, total 40km - are in a very good condition. It is very peaceful and the photography can be very rewarding.
