SA Flyer & Avcom(mers) promoted the Fly-in at Kroonstad. What a blast!
Friday afternoon: John MIller and I left Lanseria for Kroonstad, flying FPI. Loaded with cameras, tripods and a few personal belongings, we were on our way. It was an amazing afternoon with unlimited viz. At 1655 we landed at Kroonstad where we were met by Fanie Keyser. It was clear that they were ready for the AVCOM onslaught. After an excellent braai next to the Fantini Aviation hangar, we headed for our bungalow in town.
Saturday kicked off with a 'boere' breakfast at the field, aircraft landing in droves (more than fifty!) and an African Aviation Story by John M at 1300 in the hangar. Dinner was in Town around a big table - the good company enjoyed by nine guests.
Sunday morning broke bright and breezy. We departed Kroonstad in FPI at 0801 - with a 20 knot headwind it took us exactly one hour to get to Lanseria.
And the best part of the weekend? - To be able to put faces to the AVCOM names!
Check out the pictures and please leave a message - I will post more pictures later this week.
