Mount Everest’s Khumbu Glacierwhich lies at an altitude of 5,486 metres (17,999 ft) on the Nepali slopes of Mount Everest is the highest glacier in the world, a monumentally slow-moving river of ice that stretches thousands of feet along the mountain’s western face. Stunning photo. One of the worlds most beautiful places for certain. My daughter went on a trek in the Himalayas years ago and got as far as the base camp for K2. She said the adventure was beyond belief.
