This Iron Age Stronghold were ( along with four others ) built between 200 AD - 400 AD. These were times with frequent wars between the tribal communities around the Baltic Sea. Some farms were moved inside the stronghold and some were located outside. Around 600 AD the farms were moved out of the stronghold. After a period of 500 years, when the strongholds were uninhabited, the strongholds were repaired around 1150 AD and finally left during the 1300th Century. The reasons for the repair were probably that they played a role in the Civil War between the Eric and Sverker Dynasties.
The stronghold is now rebuilt so you can see in full scale how it looked some 1600 years ago.
