On the background of the picture is the Couven Museum named after the most famous Aachen architect Johann Josef Couven. The museum was built in 1656 and remodeled by the architect Jakob Couven in 1786. This beautiful house has exquisite examples of civil living culture, on four floors, shown by interior design and decoration from the 18th centuary. In the groundfloor is the "Adler-Pharmacy" in which the first chocolate of Aachen was produced (1857).
