Pink River Dolphin
One of the two species found in the Amazon River area, the pink river dolphin has an enlarged dome-like head and elongated ridge-like dorsal fin, being much larger than the gray dolphin.
The pink river dolphin is usually solitary, although it may occasionally travel in groups of up to six individuals and is not inclined to leap out of the water in the same fashion as marine species. One just usually sees the back and dorsal fin as the animal surfaces to breathe.
