We got Thunder (named Jupiter by his previous owner) and Sadie (unnamed by her previous owner) within 24 hours of each other. Thunder is an older Maine Coon, a definite outdoor cat, and can be quite aggressive and menacing with large teeth and claws, yet so soft to feel. We only kept him inside the first 24 hours after getting him, in the same room as Sadie and they did NOT get along. His loud vocal cords, menacing personality, and dark grey color reminded us of an ominous thunder cloud, hence, we changed his name. Meanwhile, Sadie was about 8-9 months old and had only been an indoor cat. She was about 1/3 the size/weight of Thunder. Sadie disappeared in the night a few weeks after moving her to be an outside cat (our original intent). Thunder stole our hearts with his majestic and regal personality (more like a lion) but still neat once you get to know him. We had Thunder for 16 months before he lost his life to the highway traffic on Dec 30th, 2006. We got Annie from a friend at church in Nov 2006. She's the first cat that Thunder has tolerated and was SO loving and carefree! You could hold her in any position and pet her anywhere and she's never used claws/teeth when you do - Thunder was the TOTAL opposite in that regard!)Annie "disappeared" after being with us for only 4 weeks. Lightning is the white/black cat that occasionally stops by to eat/hang out but it's been quite a while since we've seen him. We named him Lightning because of his speed when you try to pet/hold him (and to go with Thunder's name). So, we start off 2007 with no cats... bummer :(
