Dave, myself, our daughter Jennifer and her oldest daughter Gracie took a weekend get-away right after Christmas. Our original plan was to stay Sat & Sun nights in San Marcos, TX at a Vacation Rental by Owner house (via VRBO.com). The morning we left Taylor we agreed that staying just Sat would work better due to several schedule issues. We weren't thrilled at all with it once we saw the VRBO in person (especially the neighborhood); but hindsight is 20/20. The main reason for our trip was to take our granddaughter back to Pedernales Falls State Park where we'd taken our daughter's whole family 2 years ago and Gracie wanted to see it again. We saw the state park on our way to the VRBO, then hung around the house a bit settling in, and then went out to dinner on our way to San Antonio to see the River Walk and Alamo all lit up with Christmas lights. Part way to San Antonio our car had a serious mechanical issue that ended up needing towing to the closest Ford dealership and us taking an Uber ride back to our VRBO. The next day our son drove Dave's truck to come pick us up and bring us back home. The amazing thing is that the entire weekend had high chances of rain, yet just during the time we were in the state park, and the following day when we were loading up our stuff in our truck and later unloading it at home, it didn't rain, but the rest of the time it was. That was WAY strange but I'm sure NOT complaining! Too many prayers were lifted up for our outdoor activities and they were all answered with "Yes!".
