There are two types of monkeys that live in the area of Costa Rica that we went to: Capuchin (White-faced) and Howler (all black). We HEARD the Howler's down in the canyon either in front of and/or the canyon behind our VRBO most morning's and evening's. However, the Howler's only "visited" us once, while the Capuchin's visited twice. All three times their visits lasted about 10-15 minutes before they had moved on into the trees and out of view. Also, each visit had between 9-11 in the family. I hope my photos help you feel like YOU were visited by the monkey's, too! (Only a very few photos were zoomed in on; most were taken the distance that I was standing from them, with Dave continually telling me "Lisa, get back, you're too close!!!" I think he would have felt safest if we had watched/(photographed) them all from inside the house looking thru windows.
