I, along with church members from nine area churches joined forces to put on a free "Live Nativity at Bethlehem" the mid-December, 2012 weekend in Taylor, TX. The word I heard was that 147 people took part in some form or fashion in presenting it, almost all of the costumes were made by the same lady who also organizes this event, 492 guests went through the first night and 413 the second. (The second evening's weather had a cold front hit so our weather was not that good for an outdoor activity such as this). I was one of two "Inn Keeper #2's". All characters arrived an hour before each evening's performance, and visitors were brought through in groups of 10-35 once darkness fell, hearing dialoge either from the Narrator/(Guide) or from the various characters, telling the story of Jesus' birth on that very FIRST Christmas so long ago. My daylight photos were taken after getting in costume but before the first group started coming thru, so the scenes are in the order a group would see them (only you see it in daylight). Many of the times after saying my part and going back inside my "inn", I would sneak back out a minute later and become another one of the "towns people", roaming the streets of Bethlehem, sometimes shadowing in the background behind the group (hence the photo of our grandson on his parent's shoulders when my daughter's family went through it).
