Wow, FINALLY a new day dawns! We drove to the New Carrollton Metro station, boarded the Metro train (which was a "first" for any of us) and took it in to the heart of D.C., getting off by the Cannon Bldg where our county's Congressman office is. Congressman John E. Carter allowed one of his summer interns (Kristi) to give us a 2-hour tour of the Cannon Bldg plus the building where the "Rotunda" is. The following photos were taken during that tour but I was too busy trying to switch back and forth from taking digital shots to using the camcorder, seeing things for myself and keeping an eye on our 2 teenagers since there were a LOTTTTT of other visitors being given tours in these buildings to really tell you which buildings we were in. They were also connected by underground tunnels that we walked thru to get to & from them without the need to go outside.
