Driving from our Willow cabin up towards Denali. We stopped at this roadside picture view stop, that had what ended up being the best view of Mt. McKinley that we saw. In Denali you only saw the "tip" of it, compared to seeing much more of it here. This roadside park had restrooms and a man-made trail up a bit higher for an even-better view of it, which we took. Our Willow cabin owners told us this last winter (2014) they had a "snow drought" only getting about 3' of snow over the winter compared to their usual 11-14'. Notice the difference in the mural's snow amount compared to reality in the distance, and we were still in early spring time.
