If you enlarge this photo, you'll see that we were in the lane to go thru the main gate of Naval Station San Diego. If we (could have) continued going straight, it would have taken us to a ship who's superstructure is seen in the background of this photo. Years ago when Dave and I were stationed on this base, (at that time) it was one of the Navy's largest 3 bases in the world. This day that we were driving around, one of the gates we entered was "Gate #26"!!!
