We went to the park and took a UN-narrated shuttle bus tour that goes 54 miles into the park and then reverses (cost $27/pp compared to the NARRATED shuttle bus tours that go the exact same route but have a narrator that has a college degree in nature/ecology for $95/pp). Some of the un-narrated bus drivers act as narrators but aren't required to. Ours was wonderful and kept us all informed most of the way in, being quiet on the return trip. We saw hardly ANY wildlife over the 5.5 hour trip; seeing 3-4 Caribou (laying down way out in the distance) a group of about 7-8 Dall sheep a good ways away and 1 moose cow (fairly close). I was amazed at how much the geography changed during the 2.75 hr (one-way) trip.
