I spent a lot of my time sitting on the covered porch (trying several of their different seating choices). The hummingbirds continually entertained me as I read or just enjoyed watching nature around me. One evening, sitting in the hammock chair and watching as the sky darkened, I saw up to a full dozen hummers either feeding or waiting their turn at just one feeder all at the same time! This cottage is built at the back of a 5-acre piece of property, with the owner's large home about 1/2-way the depth of the property, but the positioning of the two residences on the property affords lots of privacy for both the owner's and their temporary tenants. Near one side of the cottage is the top of a (steep) steel stairway that leads down alongside the huge limestone cliff their property lies on top of. Once at the bottom of the stairs you walk down a bit more trail until you get to a wooden deck they constructed on top of a large boulder, which overlooks Crystal Creek. It is very private, with NOTHING around you but nature and the sound of the small waterfall that the creek creates near by. You can faintly hear that small waterfall while standing on the Retreat's porch.
