Dave and I made a quick 4-day trip to the general Chicago area for a reunion on my Dad's side of the family. We flew in late Friday morning, got our rental car and drove to downtown Chicago and took a 3-hour city tour that was wonderful! Saturday we drove from where we were staying in the Schaumberg area to nearby Rolling Meadows for the reunion that afternoon. I only knew 5 of the 30 people there before arriving; Dave only knew 3, but everyone we met was SO nice and welcoming. Sunday we drove to Genoa to meet up with some of those family members I already knew for a cemetery/city tour, seeing graves of many of my deceased family members along with places where my relatives lived/went to school/got married, etc. Monday we drove to Naval Station Great Lakes to replenish some of our "Retired United States Navy" items before heading to the airport.
