On a Saturday morning in Feb 2004 Central Texas woke up to see they'd received 1-2 inches of snow. Of course by noon all traces were just about gone, but it made for beautiful landscape scenery. Being surrounded by 200 acres of plowed farmland made us feel as though we got more than our in-town friends. Here are photos taken to remember the very unusual weather for our area.

On Sunday we had temperatures in the high 70's; on Tue mid-morning we had heavy snow fall for about 2+ hours, giving the central Texas area anywhere from .5" up to 4.00" of snow. I got home (early) around 3:30 p.m. and this was the scene looking out across the plowed fields adjacent to our property, and the temps had climbed to where snow was melting quickly everywhere so I know it must have been a LOT prettier at the peak. Just wanted to share.

A beautiful snowy sunrise. What a way to start a Valentines' Day!

Looking South thru the shrub line towards town you get a glimpse of some of the 200 acres that surround our property on 3 sides.

My "climbing tree" garden. Temps didn't get much below freezing so I'm hoping my garden plants survived it. 3 days later they appear to have.

The same view only using the zoom and taken thru the glass door's lower window screen. I almost deleted it, but kept it because it gives the impression of being printed onto canvass.
