Many years ago, Burnet, TX churches combined forces to build a small city that resembled Bethlehem in Judea where Christ was born. The citizens dress up in period costume and speak in the old way. It is held the first 2 weekends of the year, starting at 6:00 p.m. We finally went to see what it was like, getting there at 7:30. We found the end of the line and slowly made our way to the head of the line which took an hour & 40 mins, then meandered thru Bethlehem for 30 minutes until we saw Mary & Joseph with the baby just before exiting.
