Urban Wildlife
Feb 5

Well, my intention was to find something to shoot away from home today, so I took
the camera along on our trip to run errands, with only the 28mm-100mm lens and what
should we see....a Redtail hawk, with it's meal, standing in the middle of a gravel lot next to Lowe's.
This is pretty soft, and a tight crop from the full frame, but it's not something you see every day,
in the middle of town, so I'm glad I had the camera along, even if I was wishing for the longer lens!

Nikon D100
1/640s f/5.6 at 100.0mm ISO 200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

That's what my shot was supposed to look like :)
Fantastic - never be without the camera....

I'm amazed too that you were quick enough to capture it. Well done.

All things considered it isn't a bad photo. Better than not having it to show at all. Great action capture.

Wow, quick reflexes. I probably would have just stood there with my mouth open, amazed to see this in a urban enviroment. Let alone get my lens cap off and get a shot off. Sweet capture.
