American Eagle was launched in 1930, and was the last fishing schooner built in Gloucester, MA. During 1984-86 she was completely rebuilt in Rockland, ME, and in 1991, she was designated a National Historic Landmark. "Today the American Eagle looks and feels like a new boat. Her fair lines, solid timber and tarred rigging are as they were three generations ago when she first went to work in the waters off New England." ~www.schooneramericaneagle.com
