I saw one of these today in the PAD gallery and wanted to try it for myself. These are VERY hard
shots to get, by the way! Out of 40 or so pics, I got one or two sorta good ones. I admire you
if you can do these well. Here is my feeble first attempt.

Nikon D70 ,Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D AF Micro
1/500s f/40.0 at 105.0mm with Flash full exif

wonderful attempt bob. this one works very well...dof and timing is great. just one small thing...consider cloning out the flash hot spot in the bottom 6 o'clock position (just my opinion). :)

I like the blue, it really brings out the highlights. I've done quite a few like this, but you are so right,, they are very hard to get. Now, I haven't tried one like this before, and you got some good dof in there too. Well done Bob

Very nice Bob! How did you get the blue water color effect? Also can you give me some pointers as to how to acomplish this? I assume you used a tripod.
