© 2005 Laryl Hancock

One of my two best shots of the lightening that we had tonight...
I love storm chasing and when the shots turn out it's a thrill!

stats; 15sec exposure, F9 iso160, 17mm (some image to the right cropped off)
shot in raw and enhanced with a +1 exposure and some contrast/sat

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great capture - boy I really miss AZ Summer lightning storms. The ones I use to see in Tucson, both during monsoon season and the months before were absolutely spectacular - especially when there was "horizontal" lightning which never seem to strike the ground but broke out above you and seemed to fan out for dozens of miles.

yes real and scared the stuffing out of me too! I captured 2 bolts within a minute or so, it was being in the right place at the right time.. thanks for the comment

Wow....I've always wanted to get something like this! We don't get lightning very often in Portland! Super shot, Laryl!!
