MONK (Quaker) PARAKEETS

Of the over 330 species of parrots, the monk parakeet is the only species that does not nest in existing cavities. Rather, they use their bills to construct a nest of woven sitcks and spiny branches. Monks are GRANIVOROUS, eating seeds of a variety of plants.
