MALE WILD TURKEY (Meleagris gallopavo)

Myakka River State Park - Sarasota, Florida

Wild Turkeys forage on the ground, eating insects, and a variety of seeds, including tupelo fruits, acorns and saw palmetto fruits. This species remains widely distributed in Florida because of abundant forest cover.
