BLACK VULTURE (Coragyps atratus)

Myakka River State Park - Sarasota, Florida

Black Vultures are less adept at locating carrion than Turkey Vultures, due to their less sensitive sense of smell, and they often take advantage of food found by Turkey Vultures. Black Vultures are more aggressive around carcasses than Turkey Vultures, often dominating the kill.
