Tuesday (March 12th). Woke up in Kinston with the arrival fully DONE, Greene County only 15-odd minutes away. Headed to my father's house (I remembered how to get there, no directions needed) no one was home. Saw my old house. Stopped by Jackson Jones, no one home there either. Wanted to get some shots of his store in the style of "charming old shacks," but it rained rained rained rained, ugh. TIRED OF RAIN!! Saw Bob Aiken briefly at his house. Ate at Bojangle's, ran into Leon Grubbs and Lorraine Brann. Then went to Aunt Patsy's and then to see my father. (Mildred was the 1st to see me & her mouth dropped open and she went "oh my God," according to Aunt Patsy they were skeptical that I'd actually make it even as she told them "he *IS* coming.") Then went to Aunt Hilda's in Maury, tried to visit Krista Harrison Robertson (an old cousin of mine on my father's side) in Maury while there but couldn't establish contact.
