This was on a Friday, we were paid in the cabin up to Sat. My wife had found a waterfall spot in Heber Springs which said to be flowing all yr & wasn't a hard hike. I was going to have us spend most of the day in Jasper & then head to her desired spot in the afternoon or such, and then head home the next day (tomorrow) after also checking out the nearby "dam" site (from sw.org). Instead after repeating Robertson's & checking out the area lightly (to prepare for staying here in 2022) we headed on--wife got more tired today at the spot than before (though we ran into the horse/kayak people again which was nice, and I got more good shots). Outside Clinton ARK at a Western Sizzlin (we were going to eat but decided the prices were too high), the car acted up again, stranding us for nearly 2 hours. We were frantic, wondering what to do, calling an Autozone, the sheriff, and a wrecker, a rent-a-car, all getting us nowhere--and in fact we were possibly going to have to have her parents come get us (and then not know what to do with the car).

Finally, after a good 2 hours, I got it started, and with that the plan became "get home before something else goes wrong." I chanced things & had us stop in nearby Conway ARK at a gas station & Hardee's & Krispy Kreme. The car restarted fine after getting gas, but then wouldn't do so after Hardee's & Krispy Kreme, but then did crank after 2-odd minutes. Relieved, from there we went straight home (other than stopping for gas somewhere in Hot Springs with the car still running). It took a good 4-odd hours, running until 12: 30 a.m., but we did make it home--a day early.
